The glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has left many in distress. NDRF and SDRF personnel teamed up with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to mount rescue operations. Over 168 people remain missing on the fourth day of rescue operations. Authorities said that out of 36 bodies discovered by the personnel only 10 bodies have been identified. Drilling operation towards the slush flushing tunnel was stopped later in the day after approximately 7 to 8 meters of drill. A hard rock obstructed the cutters to operate. The rescue teams are now removing the slush again as earlier from machines. Slush started to take semi solid shape. This is likely to help in removing slush with more speed.
