India ended up with a total of 61 medals including 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze at the just-concluded Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. There were 10 Indians who managed to win more than 1 medal at the CWG 2022. Table tennis legend Achanta Sharath Kamal led the way with three gold and 1 silver for a total of 4 medals while compatriot Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won 3 medals with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran (Table Tennis)
The Indian men's table tennis team retained its Commonwealth Games gold medal after a close fight against Singapore in the final. The likes of Harmeet Desai, Sanil Shetty, Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran gave India's its seventh since the sport's introduction in Manchester 2002. Sathiyan also won a silver in the men's doubles event and a bronze in the singles event. Apart from them, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, Kidambi Srikanth, Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also won more than 1 medal. (Source: Twitter)
