IPL Retention: From Rashid Khan to Ishan Kishan, five shocking releases by teams

The most shocking release of them all. Rashid Khan, a huge match-winner for Sunrisers Hyderabad for last six years has been released by SRH. The management says they will try and get him at the mega auction but it will not be that easy. 

The initial reports suggested that this Mumbai Indian middle order batter will be retained alongwith Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard but instead MI went for Suryakumar Yadav. Kishan is young and looks like the next Indian star yet MI let him go. 

South African batter Faf du Plessis has played many match-winning knocks for CSK and that is why the fans thought that Faf would be retained but CSK were spoilt for choices and they had to take this decision.

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw have given many a great starts to the Delhi Capitals in the last few seasons. Shaw has been retained by DC while Dhawan has been let go. Dhawan would also have been a good retention as finding an ideal T20 opening pair would be a difficult task for DC. 

Yuzvendra Chahal has been Virat Kohli's go-to man whenever the pacers have been poor for the team. He has 139 wickets in 112 games while playing for RCB, a huge testament to what he has done for the Bengaluru franchise. Yet they let them go.
