With just four points from five games, Sri Lanka will aim to keep their hopes alive in the ongoing 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup when they take on hot favourites England at Headingley in Leeds on Friday. The 1996 champions have managed to win just one game so far against Afghanistan in what was a tense battle for them. England, on the other hand, have four victories from five matches they have played so far.

Dimuth Karunaratne-led Sri Lanka have won the toss and opted to bat first in their 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup clash against top-ranked and hosts England at Headingley in Leeds on Friday. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kusal Perera will open the batting for Sri Lanka while Chris Woakes to begin the proceedings for England.
