There has been a significant rise in women playing cricket in the Kashmir valley. Today, women are taking interest in the sport that was earlier possessed by just men.

The women in Kashmir say that if they ever get a chance, they will show their worth on not just the National level but the International level as well. The women have started coming out of their conservative societies and taking up the fields they like, be it in the education sector or the sports they prefer.

Recently, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department organised a women's cricket 2020 tournament to promote women's cricket in Jammu and Kashmir. 10 women teams across the state participated in the event that lasted for 10 days.
