In a move to strengthen the chances for IPL franchises in winning the IPL title, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has allowed the teams to go for the mid-season transfer.

The mid-season transfer will allow players to swap teams among the franchises on their mutual consent. Interestingly, the mid-season transfer will also allow the transfer of even the capped players.

However, the final decision of holding or leaving a particular player rests with the franchise owning the player at present.

The mid-season transfer will be applicable for only those players who haven’t played more than two matches in IPL 2020.
