In Pics: Will IPL 2021 be last event for MS Dhoni and THESE cricketers?
The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League in 2021 might well be the final one for some of the top Indian crcicketers. The biggest names among those could be MS Dhoni, who is already 39 years of age and had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020. Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh's contract with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was not renewed this year and even if he is picked by some other franchise in IPL 2021 mini-auction of February 18, it's unlikely that Harbhajan will play for too much longer at 40 years of age.
Robin Uthappa
Robin Uthappa has not been in the best of form in the IPL recently after joining Rajasthan Royals last season. He has had his moments in the tournament with KKR where he played a crucial part with Gautam Gambhir at the top of the order. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth
Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is one of the 1097 cricketers who have registered for the IPL 2021 mini-auction in Chennai on February 18. The former India paceman made his return to domestic cricket with Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy last month after his life ban for spot-fixing was lifted by Supreme Court. Even if he is picked by some franchise, at 38 years of age, Sreesanth might not have a lot of time left in IPL. (Source: Twitter)
Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu has been a part of the CSK franchise for a number of seasons now. He has helped the side win big matches in the past, but his form has been poor in the last season. MS Dhoni
With the IPL veteran and former India captain MS Dhoni turning 40, it is highly unlikely he will continue beyond the 2021 season. Dhoni has been synonymous with the franchise since its inception. Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh has been one of the highest wicket-takers as a spinner in the history of the league, with 150 wickets in 160 games. He has already retired from international cricket and then pulled out of IPL last year citing ‘personal reasons’.
