IPL 2022 mega auction FAQs: Team Purse, rules, marquee list, all you need to know

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction will get underway from 12pm onwards on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru. A total of 590 players will go under the hammer -- 161 up for auction on Saturday and remaining on Sunday. The 10 IPL team will spend a total of Rs 900 crore to build their teams for 2022 season. Marquee set of 10 top cricketers will start off the auction

The marquee set of players will be the first one to be brought up in front of the 10 franchises. The set includes players like: Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock, Shikhar Dhawan, Faf du Plessis, Shreyas Iyer, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Shami and David Warner. Auction order has been decided via specialization

Former Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan will be part of 'Capped' wicketkeeper list. The order has been decided via specialisation of these players. Batters will be the first ones to be up for auction, while all-rounders, wicket-keeper batters, fast bowlers and spin bowlers will follow respectively. Cricketers are divided into total of 62 sets

Deepak Hooda and other debutants will be part of 'Capped Players' now

10 teams need maximum of 25 players in budget of Rs 90 crore
