India's campaign at the Tokyo Olympics ended on a stellar note as javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra gave the nation its first and the only gold of the campaign. The feat also saw the 23-year-old athlete script history as he became the first track and field athlete from India to win a medal at athletics. 

India in total secured seven medals - 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 4 bronze - in Tokyo, with Manipur's Mirabai Chanu opening the account by securing a silver medal in weightlifting.
