India beat West Indies 1-0 in 1970-71 series.
Ajit Wadekar also led India to a 1-0 series win over the mighty West Indies in the 1970-71 series. It was the legendary Sunil Gavaskar's debut series where he piled up 774 runs and India won the second Test at Port-of-Spain by seven wickets -- the only result in the five-match series.
