From Smriti Mandhana Becoming Most Expensive Player to Harmanpreet Kaur Joining Mumbai Indians, Top 5 key Highlights of Women's Premier League 2023 Auction

Smriti Mandhana was the priciest player to be acquired, costing INR 3.4 crore (USD 415,000), while Ashleigh Gardner was the most expensive overseas purchase at INR 3.2 crore (USD 390,000).

Out of the 19 players from the Associates who were shortlisted for the auction, only Tara Norris from the USA was selected. Despite attracting the Giants' interest, Mahika Gaur from the UAE was not picked up as the team had already filled their quota for overseas players.

The top three most expensive Indian purchases were Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, and Jemimah Rodrigues.

The top three biggest overseas purchases were Ashleigh Gardner, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Beth Mooney.

A total of Rs 59.50 crore was spent to buy 87 players.
