Beijing: The second round of COVID-19 testing began on Wednesday in Beijing's largest district, with so far less than three dozen new infections per day being detected in the nation's capital, according to Reuters report.
Chinese residents have rushed to stock up on food as Beijing works to prevent a nascent outbreak and avert a city-wide lockdown like that which has crippled Shanghai for the past month. Some of the 25 million people in the commercial hub of China are expressing extreme frustration as a result.
