Taliban names designated terrorists for top posts, minister with Rs 73 cr bounty in govt- In pics

The Taliban announced its new government on Tuesday, five 5 UN-designated terrorists have been named for key positions. One of the wanted man carrying $10 million (Rs 73 crore) bounty on his head has been annointed as interior minister. Taliban's supreme leader Haibatullah Akhunzada has been declared as the Head of the new Afghan government. Here's a look at has who been alloted which profolio - In Pics 

Mullah Hasan Akhund has been named as the prime minister. Akhund is long-time chief of the Taliban`s powerful decision-making body Rehbari Shura, or leadership council. He was foreign minister and then deputy prime minister when the Taliban were last in power.

The new interior minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani is the son of the founder of the Haqqani network. He is one of the FBI`s most wanted men due to his involvement in suicide attacks and ties with Al Qaeda and carries a bounty of $10 million or Rs 73 crores.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has been appointed as deputy prime Minister. He was previously a senior Taliban commander in the long insurgency against US. He was arrested and imprisoned in Pakistan in 2010, becoming head of the Taliban`s political office in Doha after his release in 2018.

Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, son of Mullah Omar, has been annointed as defence minister.  

Also, Amir Khan Muttaqi has been named as acting Foreign Minister while Zabihullah Mujahid is acting Deputy Information Minister.
