New Delhi: Popular Marathi actress Priya Berde, who is known for her brilliant on-screen performances, was reportedly molested in a Mumbai theatres recently. It is being said that the incident took place when the 49-year-old star went to a cinema hall with her daughters.
According to an India.com report, originally attributed to a Marathi website, a person - who was sitting behind Priya - molested her and even tried to assault her physically. Later, she escalated the matter to the theatre security and, as a result, the person was arrested.
The report further states that police complaint has been lodged against the accused. Police personnel then clarified that the person was drunk and he was continuously disturbing Priya.
Priya Berde is the wife of late comedian Laxmikant Berde. She is also a noted dancer and singer.
