Twitter live 360-degree video: Know how to use it

New Delhi: Twitter is bringing live 360-degree video streams to Periscope, the live video broadcast service it owns.

Periscope announced the launch of live 360 video in partnership with a small group of popular users. Periscope says it will be rolling out the feature more widely over the coming weeks.

Periscope says it’s testing 360-degree streams with a "small group of partners", which means, anyone on Twitter and Periscope can watch 360-degree live video, though currently only select partners can go live in 360 via Periscope. The announcement was made by the company in a blog post.

How to use:

The implementation is pretty typical. On the desktop, one can click and drag around on the screen to rotate the camera wheras on mobile, you can twist and turn your phone to change your perspective.

Once you start watching a video, you can change your perspective by tapping and scrolling the screen or by simply moving your phone around.

The videos will be marked clearly with a 'LIVE 360' badge to identify them easily.

Though the quality of video offered isn't particularly great, but then, the 360-degree video does appear to work.

Earlier this year Facebook began streaming 360-degree videos, which require a special set of cameras to capture surroundings.
