SHIMLA: Narkanda town in Shimla district received snowfall on Wednesday.

Other tourist destinations Manali, Rohtang Pass, Lahaul, Spiti and Pangi had experienced snowfall on Tuesday.

During the last 24 hours Keylong in Lahul-Spiti recorded minimum temperature of - 4.9 °C, Kalpa-1 °C, Dalhousie 0.2 °C, Manali 0 °C.

Tourist destinations such as Sangla, Solang and some other places had their first snowfall of the season on Tuesday while sprawling Dhauladhar ranges in Kangra, Churdhar ranges in Sirmaur, Rohtang, Saach, Chansel and Kunzam passes had intermittent heavy snowfall for the second day.

The picturesque Kothi, near Manali, recorded 37 cm snowfall, the highest in the state, while Rohtang Pass at an altitude of 13,050 feet, 52 km from Manali, also recorded a fair amount of snow.

The pass, which links Manali with Keylong in Lahaul Valley, was closed for traffic after snow.

According to the Met office, Shimla recorded 14 mm rainfall on Tuesday. Shimla residents shivered as icy winds brought down the minimum temperature to 4 degrees Celsius whereas the maximum stayed at 8.3 degrees. Shimla saw intermittent rain throughout the day.
