New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recorded history by launching 104 satellites into space in a single shot. Here are some of the key facts of this mission:

  • Out of the 104 satellites, only 3 are Indian and the rest 101 are of foreign origin.
  • The Indian Space agency used PSLV for the launch which has a main satellite weighing 714 kilogram while remaining 103 satellites are smallers which in combination weigh 664 kilograms.
  • Todays' mega launch has set a new world record overtaking the previous one set by Russia in 2014 when it catapulted 37 satellites in a single launch.
  • The nano satellites in the rocket belong to United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, US, Israel and Kazakhstan.
  • In June 2015, ISRO had successfully launched 23 satellites in a single mission, setting a national record.
