Ashadha Ekadashi- Check out the significance of this auspicious day

Ekadhashi’s or the eleventh day in a fortnight is considered to be highly auspicious. The Ekadashi in the month of Aashadha Shukla Paksha is of great significance because Lord Vishnu goes to sleep on this day and wakes up only four months later.

Also known as Devshayani Ekadashi, Aashadha Ekadashi is celebrated soon after the Jagannath Rath Yatra concludes. Devotees observe fast on this day as a mark of devotion to the Lord.

Aashadha Ekadashi falls in the month of June/July according to the Gregorian calendar. According to Drikpanchang.com,  This year, the Tithi began at 22:15 PM on July 3 and will end at 00:29 AM on July 5.

Devotees can break their fast at Parana between 7:04 to 8:47 AM on July 5.
