Mumbai: There is a temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal region known as Pataleshwar, dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is known for accepting any humble offering from devotees with utmost love and humility. Today, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, Lord Shiva will be treated with Datura and Bel fruits besides his favourite Bilva leaves, water and raw milk. However, in the Pateleshwar Temple, one can find devotees offering even brooms!

Yes, you read that right! Devotees offer brooms to Lord Shiva to seek his blessings and get cured of skin diseases. Hence, people who have skin ailments, often vow to offer a broom to Pataleshwar, once they recover from their disease.
