Lehmann admits Oz team culture `needs improvement`

Sydney: Australian cricket coach Darren Lehmann has fronted a Cricket Australia board meeting in Melbourne, that addressed the issue of improvements in the culture of the team ahead of a critical Ashes summer.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Lehmann outlined his coaching and team management philosophies to directors for the first time since he was hired to replace sacked predecessor Mickey Arthur before the three-nil Ashes defeat in England.

Apart from updating the board on Australia`s preparations for the return bout at home this summer, Lehmann highlighted progress made in instilling team values and expectations of players after the latter part of Arthur`s tenure was plagued by behavioural issues, the report said.

Don Argus, who led the landmark review of the team`s performance after the 2010-11 Ashes disaster, was also invited to give his impressions on the state of the game two years after his report was released, the report added.
