New Delhi: On the eve of fifth and final One-Day International against hosts Australia, Indian vice-captain Virat Kohli said that he still considers himself as a club cricketer and hailed Ravi Shastri's influence on his game.
Living in the spotlight since making his senior debut in August 2008, Kohli has managed to bring in a different aspect to India's game with controlled aggression. And many have hailed Kohli's rise as India's top batsman and also as the new leader.
However, the 27-year-old batsman still considered himself "as a club cricketer wanting to do well in every game". The Delhi cricketer scored two back-to back centuries against the Australians and became the youngest batsman to notch up ODI 25 hundreds.
And he credited Shastri, who later became Team Director in August 2014, for the success.
"Ravi Shastri has helped me more as batsman but as far as captaincy is concerned he doesn't interfere much," Kohli said.
