New Delhi: The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Jagmohan Dalmiya was on Thursday rushed to the hospital in Kolkata after he suffered a heart attack.
The BCCI chief, who is 75, has been rushed to KM Birla hospital in Kolkata.
There have been a lot of talk about his health ever since he took over as the BCCI President.
According to a report in the DNA, the Kolkata-based businessman, who has the Alzheimer's disease among other health complications, has not been attending office for several months. He was elected to the post in March in 2015.
According to the source, Sharad Pawar, who heads the Mumbai Cricket Association, called on Union finance minister Arun Jaitley a few days ago and convinced him that Dalmiya must go. Jaitley, who is said to be the supremo on all cricketing matters in the Bharatiya Janata Party, is believed to have realised the situation.
Several members want Pawar to take over from Dalmiya. However, souces claim that he is "not keen" on occupying the chair again. After all, the former BCCI president has even helmed the International Cricket Council.
