New Delhi: The upcoming India versus South Africa series which is due to run for two long months will have a big launch in Bengaluru. The BCCI has chosen Bengaluru as the city to launch the series as the teams gear up for 3 T20s, 5 ODIs and 4 Test matches.

According to a report in the International Business Times and Times of India, the BCCI have some major plans for the series as they are set for a big launch on 21 September in Bangalore.

"We have some big plans for the upcoming series. Both the countries share common struggle, common history. We are planning a big launch of the series on 21st September in Bangalore (Bengaluru). We will make some major announcements their and launch a few initiatives related to the series," Anurag Thukar told The Times of India in an exclusive interview.

The series is expected to be a close affair with both teams having some big names in their line up. Players such as Dale Steyn, AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni are going to be crucial members for their respective teams.

Though the South African team for the tour have been announced, India's team for the series is expected to be announced on Sunday.

The BCCI have a packed schedule in the coming months. Not only do they have the big South Africa series on their minds, but also the 2016 T20 World Cup, which will be hosted in India.

The venues have already been announced for the event. Their preparations are in full swing for the T20 tournament as they will be eager to make it a grand success. The venues are also expected to be announced shortly.

"Preparations are in full swing. Venues have been discussed and announced. All the ground work related to the event has started. Very soon we will release the schedule of the event," said Anurag Thakur.
