CA hoping night Tests `get off ground` in two years against Kiwis

Sydney: Cricket Australia ( CA) boss James Sutherland has reiterated his support behind the idea of night Test matches, saying that he believes that the concept might get off the ground in two years` time against New Zealand.

Although the main sticking point of the concept is still the type of ball to be used in the Tests, Sutherland, however, said that the ball is a work in progress and there may be some sort of compromise around the ball to play Test cricket at night.

According to News.com.au, Sutherland further said that they have had discussions with the New Zealand cricket board about the prospect of their tour to Australia in 2015-16, at which time they may try to hold the night Tests also.

But Sutherland admitted that they need to test the concept through a round of domestic Sheffield Shield that they would be playing in the coming year.
