Karnataka bundle out J&K for 85 in Ranji Trophy

Pune: After a stellar show in their last two matches, Jammu and Kashmir today suffered a batting collapse to be bundled out for just 85 runs in 29.5 overs against Maharashtra in their Group C Ranji Trophy match, here today.

The best score in their innings was made by number nine batsman Ram Dayal, who managed 18 runs off 31 balls.

Skipper Parveez Rasool (12) and openers -- Adil Rishi (12), Obaid Haroon (11) -- were the only batsmen who got a double-digit score after being invited to bat by the hosts.

Maharashtra pacers Samad Fallah (4/32) and Shrikant Mundhe (3/21) shared seven wickets between them as they broke the back of the visitors` batting line up.

J&K came into the match after consecutive wins over Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

In reply, Maharashtara were a solid 185 for two at the end of play on day one at MCA Stadium.

Harshad Khadiwale was unbeaten on 79 but they lost Sangram Atitkar (62) and Vijay Zol (23).
