I am asking for two months' time to clean up BCCI: Shashank Manohar

New Delhi: Immediately after being elected the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president on Sunday at the SGM meeting which took place in Mumbai, Shashank Manohar asked for two months' time to clean up the Board.

“I am asking for two months' time to clean up the Board (BCCI),” said Manohar, who has become the 36th chief of the cricket board.

The 58-year-old stated that his first priority is to 'clean the image of the Board.'

Manohar, who is set for his second term as BCCI chief, added that "the board is to appoint an Ombudsman to tackle issues of conflict of interest".

The newly appointed president seems quite serious regarding the corruption issue as well in the sport as he made sure that the BCCI would lay down norms and take measures to prevent corruption in the game.
