New Delhi: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan on Monday played host to West Indies opener Chris Gayle at his Mumbai residence.

The Caribbean boys are in town for their World Twenty20 semi-final clash against India on Thursday at the Wankhede stadium.

Taking to social micro-blogging site Twitter, Big B joked that he had been extremely polite to his guest and that he hoped for the same from the hard-hitting Jamaican during the big match on Thursday.

All the Indian fans will hope for the same too, considering the form Gayle is in at the moment.

The veteran actor handed some books to the batsman as well.

According to the left-hander, Bachchan wants him to score a ton in a losing cause against the Men in Blue.

During West Indies' match against England in Mumbai, Bachchan had apologized to Gayle for not being able to meet him.

Gayle represents the only chance for the Windies to beat India on Thursday.

Mumbai fans would love to see Gayle do well as long as it does not hamper India's chance of moving to the final.
