New Delhi: Former captain Imran Khan on Sunday advised Pakistan against playing its scheduled 2016 ICC World Twenty20 match against India in Dharamsala on March 19.

The 63-year-old cricketer-turned-politician was not happy with the recent comments made by the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbhadra Singh.

"The statement by the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister is an irresponsible one and is totally against the standards of hospitality and hosting. The Chief Minister's statements clearly promote hate," Imran was quoted as saying by Dawn News today.

"Amid this situation, I don't believe the Pakistan team should play at Himachal Pradesh," he added.

Virbhadra Singh had earlier expressed inability to provide security for the high-profile match in the wake of objections raised by the Kangra-based families of martyrs and ex-servicemen.

The protesters consider hosting Pakistan as an "insult" to the soldiers who lost their lives in Pathankot airbase terror attack in January.
