New Delhi: Munis Ansari grabbed the headlined on Wednesday when he put in a superb effort against Ireland in Oman's maiden World T20 appearance.
The pacer scalped three top-order batsmen including the O’Brien brothers.
Another reason why fans and the cricketing community took note of Ansari was because of his bowling action that is eerily similar to Lasith Malinga.
Interestingly, Ansari grew up in Bhopal, wanting to play for the Indian team.
“I did not have a Godfather in cricket and that could be why I wasn’t considered. I learnt my cricket and came up on my own,” he was quoted as saying by DNA.
Munis #Ansari might have copied Malinga's bowling action... But not his haircut! #WorldT20 #WT20 #IREvOMA #bald pic.twitter.com/3zEdHYAUNG
