India vs New Zealand: MSK Prasad-led new selection committee to announce ODI team today

New Delhi: MSK Prasad-led selection panel will be up for their first major assignment today as they announce the ODI squad for the upcoming five-match series against New Zealand.

The new panel was appointed by the Indian board at the recently concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Considering the fact that the Men in Blue have lost their last two out of three series (against South Africa and Australia), and also with key players injured, it remains to be seen whether selectors will pick new names or recall the likes of Yuvraj Singh back in the squad.

The only ODI series won by the Men in Blue was against Zimbabwe earlier this year, where they won the series 3-0.

Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal and two names which are likely to be named in the 15-man squad. Manish Pandey too is a certainty in the squad.

Injuries to Shikhar Dhawan and Lokesh Rahul has made the job tougher for the selectors, who were criticised for their lack of experience.

India are currently leading the three-match Test series 2-0.

The first ODI is scheduled to be played on Octover 16 in Dharamsala.
