Motivation from God: Sachin Tendulkar fulfills 'Lala' Virender Sewhag's wish

New Delhi: Batting great Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday granted what his apprentice Virender Sehwag wished for with a blessing like none other.

Tendulkar responded to Sehwag's tweet in which Nawab of Najafgarh sough blessings from the God of Cricket.

Sachin wrote, "Jiyo mere Lala" and "Tathaaaastuuuuu"

It all started with a Tendulkar tweet, hailing India's win over New Zealand at Eden Gardens which helped Virat Kohli & Co reclaim number one position in the ICC Test ranking.

Tendulkar tweeted, "A spectacular victory by Team INDIA & many congratulations on regaining the no 1 position in the world test cricket!!"

Sehwag reacted to the comment, in his typical way.

"Oh God ji, kabhi kabhi Commentators ko bhi encourage kar diya kijiye. Thoda Motivation mil jaayega," Sehwag wrote.

Tendulkar and Sehwag match batted together for India and their exchange in social media allowed legions of cricket fans to hit the nostalgia button.

After retirement, Tendulkar has pursued sports developmental works and is the owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, while Sehwag has become the undisputed Twitter King. He also does commentary.

And probably that's where Sehwag wanted Tendulkar to come in. Doing commentary, and motivating other commentators. Just like during his playing days.

India won the second Test of the three-match series to take an unassailable 2-0 lead with 1 178-run victory at Eden Gardens.

The win also helped India overtake Pakistan as number one ranked team in Test cricket.
