New Delhi: While cricket fans in the United States turned up in huge numbers at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill to watch the first T20I between India and West Indies, former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar was denied an entry.
The security personnel failed to recognize Gavaskar, who is widely regarded as one of the legends in the cricket fraternity.
One of the fans, who witnessed the incident in front of his eyes, tweeted about it as well.
Standing outside gate being denied entry again as India team is here. I feel better today though because they're denying Sunny Gavaskar too.

While the cricket fans tried to make the security officials realise their mistake, they were in no mood to let him in and stuck to their decision.
SMG's minder was pissed. "Do you know who he is?! He needs to be inside."
Security: "I don't care who the hell he is, he ain't gettin in!"— Peter Della Penna (@PeterDellaPenna) August 28, 2016
The fan further added that instead of losing his cool, Gavaskar spent his time taking selfies with spectators.
Gavaskar was cool about it. He passed the time taking selfies with fans outside the gate until India team bus left and we were allowed in.
