New Delhi: After making his debut in the Indian Premier League eight years before, Brendon McCullum found himself to be the first foreign player to be drafted in the Rajkot team on Tuesday as 10 players were selected by two franchises.

McCullum was picked by Rajkot alongside Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo. The trio played with McCullum in the suspended Chennai Super Kings side. McCullum has earlier played for Kolkata Knight Riders and the defunct Kochi Tuskers.

McCullum was emphatic for CSK in his two seasons there and scored runs at will.

According to a report in the Cricket Country, McCullum stated on Tuesday that he is excited to play for Team Rajkot for the 2016 edition. He also added that it has been a great feeling to play in India with the crowd giving so much love.

MS Dhoni was selected by Pune and when asked if he would miss playing with the former, he stated that in the Rajkot team he will be playing alongside Suresh Raina , Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo, with whom he has had a wonderful time at CSK.

McCullum’s has played 76 matches in the IPL and has scored 2080 runs.
