Indian Premier League: Too early to speak about Rajkot captaincy, says Brendon McCullum

New Delhi: Dynamic New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, who will represent the new Indian Premier League franchise (IPL) Rajkot from the forthcoming season, feels that it's too early to talk about the captaincy of the team.

"I think it's too early to speak on it as the draft itself has just happened," the Kiwi told Times of India.

Swashbuckling McCullum, who was the first foreigner to be picked in the IPL Players' draft, seemed exultant to play for his new franchise.

“I am excited to be part of the Rajkot side for the next edition of the IPL. It has always been great playing in India as the crowds give you so much love, and they have an enthusiasm for the game which is unmatched,” McCullum told the newspaper.

In the second edition of the cash-rich IPL, the 34-year-old led Kolkata franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

However, speculations in the media are that Suresh Raina is also in captaincy race along with the New Zealander.
