Injured Yuvraj Singh drops big hint about his cricketing future

New Delhi: Injured Yuvraj Singh is likely to return to the Sunrisers Hyderabad side for the match on May 6.

In order to make an impression on the national selectors, the left-hander needs to make a major impact in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League.

However, the Punjab batsman believes he has a better chance to make it to the Test and not the ODI team.

Yuvi made this revelation during an interview with the Times of India.

According to the World Cup winner, it is tough to earn a ODI team recall because players like Ajinkya Rahane and Manish Pandey are performing in the middle-order.

However, the veteran star believes he could play a key role for the team in Tests considering the Virat Kohli's side is scheduled to play more cricket in whites this year.

"Right now, it's tough to get a spot in the India ODI side, because in the middle order, Ajinkya Rahane and Manish Pandey are playing really well," he told the TOI.

Yuvraj feels he does have a good chance to make it to the Test side. Also, he enjoys a great equation with Test skipper Kohli.

"There's an opportunity there, for sure. India is playing 13-15 Tests in India next. I've scored six-seven hundreds in the past couple of seasons in the Ranji Trophy . If I get a chance to play on spinning tracks, I've been playing spin well. I'd love to play Tests again. See, selection isn't in my hand. All I can do is try my best," he further added.

Yuvraj is hoping to make a return against the Gujarat Lions next month. By then  33 matches in the tournaments will have been completed.

One wonders whether the left-hander have enough time on his hands to get back to his best in the remainder of the tournament.
