New Delhi: In the 39th match of the Indian Premier League, Mumbai Indians will host Delhi Daredevils at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
For Mumbai the season started off on a poor note as they lost their first four matches on the trot. Their derailed campaign came back on track after registering three victories in their last three matches. Rohit Sharma's side is now playing as a united and opener Parthiv Patel's cracking knock against Kings XI Punjab will surely give MI much-needed confidence up the order.
Key players in the team – Lasith Malinga, Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard and Rohit - have to play key roles in today's tie against DD.
On the other hand, Delhi have been erratic thus far in the tournament. Their biggest worry is the poor form of their marquee signing Yuvraj Singh. The all-rounder is looking like a pale shadow of his former self.
However, DD can take heart from the fact that their skipper JP Duminy has been in superb nick with bat and ball. In fact, comeback of Zaheer Khan has also strengthened their bowling line up.
With this being a home game for Mumbai, they have a slight edge of Delhi i Match 39.
Kieron Pollard: The all-rounder has been an integral part of the Mumbai outfit. He is undoubtedly a match-winner, who can turn the tables single-handedly with ball and bat. The towering figure is a live wire on field, especially near the boundary ropes and loves to entertain the viewers and irritate his opponents. In the absence of all-rounder Corey Anderson, he has to take the responsibility on his strong shoulders against DD.
JP Duminy: He has been the most consistent player for Delhi so far. In fact, the South African while leading his side has been impressive with both – bat and ball. He has scored 276 runs in eight innings and bagged eight wickets as well. He is among the leading run scores in the on-going edition of the IPL and in today's encounter the 31-year-old has to play a crucial role once again for his side.
