Georgetown, Guyana, March 28: Admitting to unforced errors that his team committed, Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene said that Sri Lankans were right in losing the match and did not deserve to win it.

Jayawardene looked disappointed from team’s poor performance. He said that the batsmen did not bat well though the bowlers gave great fightback. “We lost early wickets and overall we made many mistakes. We never played our quota of 50 overs. It wasn’t for us to win this game,” the dejected Lankan skipper added.
On the other hand, South African skipper Graeme Smith applauded his team’s efforts. Smith said, “Playing Sri Lanka would have always been tough as the conditions here suited them. But it was a good game for us as we dominated 95 overs of the game.”

Smith also appreciated Charl Langeveldt’s efforts. He said, “Charl is a superbly skilled bowler. And he came in handy while batting too as he blocked 10 balls in the last three overs of the South African innings.”

The man of the match Charl Langeveldt was happy with his performance. When asked whether he would like to open bowling for South Africa , Langeveldt said that though the ball swings early on, he prefers first change.
