Georgetown (Guyana), March 30: Indian skipper Rahul Dravid was effusive in praise of Anil Kumble, who retired from one-day cricket on Friday, describing him as a "terrific performer" and a great "team man".
"It is great that he has played so much of ODI cricket. He is one of India`s great performers as his statistics reveal," Dravid said.
"He is India`s highest wicket-taker in the shorter version of the game and his 6-12 (against West Indies) is still India`s record," Dravid said.
Dravid, however, expressed relief that he will still be there bowling for his country in test cricket.
"He is a terrific performer and a great team man and has been instrumental in many of India`s victories, but one good thing is that he will still be around to play with us in test
matches," Dravid said.
