Pak players to return in batches

Karachi, March 28: An American news agency has claimed that the Pakistan players will return in groups and will leave from Pakistan on Thursday.

According to the agency the players will return from different flights. Shahid Afridi will stay at his brother’s house in London. Danish Kaneria, Inzamam and Azhar Mahamood were the other players who will stay in London for a while.

Earlier, vice captain Younis Khan faced snide remarks from angry fans on his return to the country after the Pakistan cricket team`s dismal show in the World Cup.

Younis, one of the more popular players in the team, had a host of relatives and friends to receive him at the airport yet some irate fans raised slogans against the player with some of them demanding the team members be paraded on a donkey.

"One or two people raised this insulting slogan in the heavy rush outside the terminal building and Younis was visibly upset with them, he was then taken home by his large entourage of relatives and friends," one eye-witness said.

Pakistan were knocked out of the World Cup after losing their second game to minnows Ireland. They also lost to West Indies in the opening match of the tournament.

The team reached London from Kingston, Jamaica where their coach Bob Woolmer died on March 18 and whose death has resulted in a full scale investigation by the police.

Yousuf, in contrast, had not come out of the terminal building and after reaching Karachi taken a domestic flight straight to Lahore, according to eye witnesses.

The eye witnesses said Yousuf was received by a Tableegi Jamaat colleague and had a scarf on his head and part of his face like extra religious people do.
