New Delhi: Mumbai's Shreyas Iyer scored a breezy ton on Thursday to give his side the edge against Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy final in Pune.
The stylish right-hander's 117-run knock included 15 fours and 2 sixes. Despite the seaming nature of the strike, Iyer scored at a strike rate of 82.39.
His 228-minute stay at the crease enabled Shreyas to move from fifth to second in the list of most run-scorers in a Ranji season.
Iyer also become the third batsman in history to score 11 50-plus scores in a Ranji season, equaling Vijay Bharadwaj and Abhishek Nayar.
The Delhi Daredevils batsman is knocking on Team India's door now after consistent performances in domestic cricket.
