Karachi: Pakistani pacers Muhammad Aamer and Umar Gul were reportedly embroiled in a scuffle after the side`s comprehensive win over New Zealand in the second Test but the team management today denied any such incident.
According to a report in the `Express TV` here, the duo was fined Rs 200,000 each for getting physical with each other in Wellington.
But when contacted, the Pakistan team manager in New Zealand Abdul Raquib denied the story.
"No fight took place between Aamer and Umar Gul and they have not been fined by the management," Raquib told agency today.
"Look I don`t know from where this story has come but no such major incident took place and I don`t know about any serious fight between the players," he said.
This is not the first time that such incidents have been reported from a touring Pakistan squad abroad.
In 2007, fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was sent back home from South Africa and banned for 13 matches after he hit teammate Mohammad Asif with a bat before the Twenty20 World Cup.
In the 2003 World Cup, a fight broke out between the then captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and Younus Khan during a football game and the incident was widely reported in the press.
Recently, there were reports that Fawad Alam was fined after breaking team regulations in the Champions Trophy in South Africa and in a national camp before that.
