London: The hype surrounding the Ashes series took its first toll in form of Jonathan Trott as the English number 3 left the tournament midway citing depression.
His uncelebrated exit from the Ashes has drawn reactions from various cricket veterans.
Spin legend Shane Warne expressed concerns over Trott’s health condition, while former England skipper Michael Vaughan apologized for slamming Trott over his dismissal in the Gabba Test.
Feeling for Jonathan Trott. I hope he and his family are left alone by all media & he's able to recover quickly & return to the Eng team !

I do feel guilty for criticising Trott this week .. I wasn't to know what he was going through and I can only comment on what I see ...

Meanwhile, Trott’s team mates hailed his decision to leave the tour a brave one and applauded his courage.
Love Trotty. Absolute champion of a man. He knows he has all the support of all the people around him. Puts cricket in perspective

However, former English cricketer Andrew Flintoff was confident Trott would be soon back on the field.
Trotty will be back . Over the hardest hurdle in his recovery by facing it head on , which is something we are not all able to do #braveman

Aussie coach, Darren Lehmann also expressed his concern over Jonathan’s health.
I wish Johnathon Trott a speedy recovery from a tough situation, a safe flight home to be with family! #ashes

Former English cricketer Paul Collingwood also had best wishes for Trott.
Cricket is important but your health is your life. Hope Trotty recovers enough to get back to the top #trott #ashes

Also, former English cricketer Marcus Trescothik, who underwent similar situation when he left the India tour in 2006 and the Australian tour in 2007 sympathised with his former teammate and expressed his views on Twitter.
Let's not start pointing to many fingers at the reason why and how, let's just think about the man in the mist of it all

Jonathan Trott who scored just 19 runs in the Gabba Test, had been struggling with his form for quite some time now.
