New Delhi: Indian captain Virat Kohli on Thursday achieved yet another milestone by crossing the 3000-run mark on the Day 1 of first Test against West Indies at Antigua.

The 27-year-old hit a four off Devendra Bishoo in the fourth ball of the 30th over to go pass the 3000-run mark in Test cricket.

Playing in his 42nd Test, Kohli took 73 innings to reach the milestone. But the fastest Indian to reach the mark is Virender Sehwag (55 innings), ahead of Mohammad Azharuddin (64), Sunil Gavaskar (66), Gautam Gambhir (66), Rahul Dravid (67), Sachin Tendulkar (67) and Navjot Singh Sidhu (70).

Kohli took just 19 knocks to compile the third thousand, after taking 27 and 26 innings respectively for the first and second thousand runs.

He has 11 hundreds and 12 fifties in 41 Test matches.
