Moscow: A great result for Mexico, Hirving Lozano’s fiery shot clinched the match for his nation. The Central Americans were brilliant throughout the match with their counter-attacks and at the same time held their defence strong, denying Germany the elusive equaliser. The defending champions were all out and heavily attacking in the second-half, but despite creating a number of chances, they failed to make a breakthrough into the Mexican net. Interestingly, the last two reigning champions had exited the World cup in group stages. Germany needs to get their act together against South Korea and Sweden if they fancy their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages.
