New Delhi: Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal have been fined £40,000 and £30,000 respectively by the Football Association after failing to control their players during the ill-tampered Stamford Bridge match on 19 September.
In a statement released by the FA on Thursday, both the clubs have also been warned about their future conduct after both clubs admitted a breach of FA Rule E20.
Both the London teams were involved in an ugly on-field spat in the first half, and related to the incident involving Diego Costa, Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista.
Chelsea forward Costa appeared to push Koscielny in the face with both hands, for which he was retrospectively banned for, while Gabriel was shown a red card for his retaliation. The Brazilian defender's ban was however reduced to just one match.
The match also witnessed Santi Cazorla seeing red card for a foul on Cesc Fabrega in the 79th minute.
The statement read: "The charge was for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion from the 44th to the 47th minute of the game at Stamford Bridge on 19 September 2015.
"The Independent Regulatory Commission considered the previous disciplinary records of both clubs in reaching its decision on sanction."
Chelsea won the ill-tampered match 2-0 at home to keep their impressive record against the Gunners.
