New Delhi: Gianni Infantino was elected as Sepp Blatter's successor on Saturday after process went to a second ballot for the first time since 1974.

With the organization's credibility at an all-time low, Infantino has the difficult task of maneuvering a makeover. 

Here are eight things things you should now about the new FIFA boss:

- The 45-year-old Swiss-Italian is the ninth president of world football's governing body.

- Infantino will complete Sepp Blatter's term and continue as FIFA president until 2019.

- Born in Brig, Switzerland, the new president's hometown is only 6 miles from Blatter's hometown of Visp. 

- Infantino is a qualified lawyer. He studied law at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland.

- He speaks five languages – Spanish, French, Italian, German and English.

- Prior to his stint with UEFA, Infantino served as secretary general of the International Centre for Sports Studies at the University of Neuchatel.

- Infantino was nominated for the FIFA presidency after Michel Platini was suspended.

- He wants to increase the number of participating teams in the World Cup from 32 to 40 teams.
