London Olympics: Would have loved to hear national anthem says Sushil

London: London Olympics silver medallist Sushil Kumar said he wanted to win the gold in the men`s 66kg freestyle wrestling event and hear India`s national anthem.

Sushil lost the Sunday final to Japanese Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu, settling for silver and becoming the first individual athlete from India to win medals back-to-back in the Olympics.

Sushil, bronze winner at Beijing Games, went injured into the match and four fights in a day did not help his cause.

"Injuries are part and parcel of the game. But I would have loved to hear the national anthem here. The golden days of wrestling (however) are back," the 29-year-old told a news channel referring to the bronze won by childhood friend Yogeshwar Dutt in the 60kg category Saturday.

The national anthem is played at major international sporting events only for the gold winner.
