New Delhi: Columnist and author Shobhaa De fueled a storm earlier in the week after demeaning India's Rio contingent.
De was heavily criticized by the public for terming this tweet - Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity.
Apart from sports lovers, eminent personalities as well as athletes slammed her for the remark.
Veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle however offered the best reply.
This tweet from Bhogle made the perfect point without even naming De.
I don't understand why sports lovers are wasting so much time outraging over comments of people who don't matter.

On Tuesday, De tried attempted to shift the blame on officials and authorities. Nobody on Twitter however bought her latest explanation.
Official apathy main reason why we fare so poorly during every Olympics, not just Rio. Difficult for athletes to 'compete' with this hurdle.

So far though, De has not apologized for her remark.
