India are sending a sizable track and field team. Last time around, at the London Games, there were only 14 athletes. But this time, it's there will be close to 40 of them representing the country.

Athletics competitions will be held during the last 10 days of the games, from 12 to 21 August in three venues. Track & field events at Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, marathon at Sambadrome in downtown Rio de Janeiro, and race walks in Pontal, Recreio.
