Melbourne: Indian tennis stars Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza have advanced to the third round of the Australian Open tournament after winning their respective second-round doubles matches on Saturday at Melbourne Park.
The seventh-seeded Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi rallied to beat the British pair of Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in men`s doubles second round.
Meanwhile, reports mentioned that Mirza and her Zimbabwean partner Cara Black strolled to victory in their second-round women`s doubles match following a 7-5, 6-1 win over Monica Niculescu from Romania and her Czech partner Klara Zakopalova.
However, Mahesh Bhupathi and his American partner Rajeev Ram were ousted after a 4-6 6-7(7) defeat by second seeded combination of Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares.
